Workshop on translation
This workshop was a collaboration between the ENS de Lyon and the Villa Gillet.
Since 2006 the Villa Gillet has been inviting American
and British translators to the Villa Gillet to translate works of French
literature which have not yet been published in English. Their presence is the
opportunity for cultural exchange, translation seminars and public meetings.
The project is the fruit of a partnership forged with the PEN American Center
and the book services of the French, British and American embassies.
Since the beginning of this programme, the Villa Gillet has welcomed Bruce Benderson (USA), Peter Brown (USA), Marjolijn de Jager (USA), Adriana Hunter (GB), Donald Nicholson-Smith (GB/USA), Catherine Temerson (USA), Alyson Waters (USA), Frank Wynne (Irlande), Jeanine Herman (USA), Pascale Torracinta (USA) and Euan Cameron (GB).
